Southern Biscuit Donates Flour

Southern Biscuit Flour Donation

At Feeding Avery Families, we are blessed to receive all sorts of food donations to pass along to the hungry in our county. We are especially delighted this week to receive a donation of 1,520 pounds of Southern Biscuit Flour® from Renwood Mills. As with many food producers, they occasionally have large production overruns. Fortunately for us, they generously donate the extra product to food banks and nonprofit organizations like us instead of disposing of the extra product.

We predict lots of biscuits, pancakes, muffins and pastries in our client’s homes! Southern Biscuit is 100%, locally-sourced flour made from soft wheat – ideal for frying or baking. Renwood Mills is located in Newton, North Carolina, and produces over 750,000 pounds of wheat flour per day sold and marketed in several large grocery and restaurant chains throughout the Eastern United States.

Southern BiscuitAccording to Keith Vines, Vice President Sales & Marketing at Renwood, “Renwood Mills, the proud producer of Southern Biscuit Flour® is very pleased to have made a product donation to Feeding Avery Families! They do a great job serving those in need in and around Avery County and it gives us great pride to know that our products will be going to North Carolina families.”

FAF Director Dick Larson says, “This flour will be a wonderful addition to the supplies we provide, especially as the weather starts to get colder. The things we try to do for our friends and neighbors in need, we certainly can’t do alone. Thank you Southern Biscuit for partnering with us in this effort.”
